Don’t think it, do it

Red light . The plethora of cars stop.
The homeless on the island dividing the traffic lanes takes the advantage of the brake in the flow.
He steps to the first car, no obtrusion. Doesn’t get anything. Goes on to the next. They reject him, too.
Then he looks at me with asking eyes, offering his magazine. Have a nice day!
I am prepared for such situations.
Beacuse I don’t want to think how generous and helpful I am, and by the time I think through this and what I could do to truly be so, slips away the possibility that I could act the way I think I am. Just the thought would remain. And what’s it worth for me? And fot the other?
So I turned this thing and act generosity and helpfulness. With this I truly am generous and helpful because I don’t think it, I do it. And the act also brings the thought.
So I am prepared. I always keep in the car one or two 500 forint bills at hand, so I don’t even need to fumble for it.
I handed him the money over, I got a Without A Roof.
The man thanked it and said:

– May God bless you! Have a beautiful day!

I just gave myself a blessed, beautiful day.
